What’s at stake as to whether or not I accept the Trinity view of God?

  • In Matthew 22, Mark 12, Luke 10, Jesus quoted Moses words which were given through divine inspiration, Deuteronomy 6:4-5, “LORD (YHWH) our God is one Lord. You shall love the LORD (YHWH or The Father) your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” Jesus was reaffirming this as the greatest Biblical truth.

This verse identifies LORD or YHWH as the only God, and YHWH is to receive all of your love.Your love must not be shared with some other god or gods. For there is no other god, only YHWH – Jesus tells us this. (Mark 12).We must obey Him. 2Thess 1:8-9.

Jesus also told us to worship only YHWH (Matthew 4:10, John 4:23). We must obey Him. 2Thess 1:8-9.

Jesus also told us not worship Him, but to worship the Father, YHWH, only (Rev 22:6-10). We must obey Him.

  • To worship the Trinity is to Worship Jesus and the Holy Spirit, along with the Father as God – who according to the Trinity teaching, are equal to each other and are each God. To believe in the Trinity is to love Jesus and the Holy Spirit with that love that Jesus told us to give to the Father. To Worship the Holy Spirit or Jesus as God, is to violate His direct Command and to violate God’s commands given through Moses – it is idolatry. (2Thess 1:8-9).

  • From a human perspective, Jesus does seems worthy of Worship, but from God’s perspective and Jesus’ perspective, we are to Worship the Father only, Pray to the Father, and love the Father “. That’s what Scripture tells us, that’s what Jesus tells us.

  • Simply based on Jesus’ words in John 17:3, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. “  I’d say in choosing the worship the ‘Trinity’, you may have the majority of the Christian church, church tradition, Babylon, and Constantine on your side, but choosing the sovereignty of YAHWEH as the only true God, you have a small remnant of believers, apostles, early church, the Scriptures and Jesus on your side.

  •  Who is it that wants to detract worship away from the Father, YHWH our God, and take it for himself? Who deceives the whole world? (Rev 12:9).  The world is convinced that they should worship Jesus, so then when the false Jesus, Christ, or Messiah comes they will automatically worship Him because they worship Him now.  However when the true Jesus comes, He will direct all worship to God the Father.  Jesus will rebuke and judge those who worship him and the false Christ.

  • The Antichrist will claim that he is God and that he be worshiped according to 2Thess 2:4, “Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, shows himself that he is God.” The true Christ didn’t claim to be God and directed all worship to the Father.

  • A three sided triangle with three equal sides is called an equilateral triangle and has long been used as a ‘picture’ or ‘image’ of the Trinity.  It has three corners and the angle of each corner is 60 degrees.  Thus the degrees of the three angles are 60°, 60°, 60°.  Could that be where the ‘666’ in Revelation comes from?  Also just as the followers of the anti-Christ will persecute those that are loyal to God, so too Trinitarians throughout history have persecuted those that do not believe in the Trinity.  The Jews are persecuted today, fundamentally because they do not believe in the Trinity.  Will it happen again?  Perhaps after the anti-Christ comes and all Trinitarians fall down to worship the false Christ, and notice that those who don’t believe in the Trinity and don’t believe that the Christ is God, are not bowing down.  Like the three Hebrews in the Book of Daniel, there will be persecution for those that don’t bow down and worship the ‘image’ (∆) of the beast.

  • Perhaps a sincere Christian, that loves, obeys and wants to please God, but has been deceived into thinking that there are three Gods of the Trinity to worship, will simply be guilty of committing an ‘unknown’ sin, and it will not held against them.  But I don’t know that for sure.  Perhaps God will forgive them due to ignorance, I don’t know that for sure either. Or perhaps they will be judged for breaking the first and greatest commandment – I don’t know how God will deal with them, but I don’t want to be one of them. Jesus referred to the Old Testament as the scriptures, and they clearly say there is one God, and God is one, and worship Him alone.

  • 1John 2:22, “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.”  It says that the one that denies the Father and the Son is a liar and is the Anti-Christ.  Who denies the Father and the Son?  The 4th century church leaders did when they adopted the pagan Trinity as their god. By claiming that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are three co-equal beings who always existed – that doctrine removes the literal distinction between the three.  Since the Trinitarians claim that the three are co-equal, there is no literal ‘Father’ and no literal ‘Son’.  Trinitarians claim that they were merely role playing the parts of ‘Father’, ‘Son’ and ‘Holy Spirit’ for the purposes of redemption.  Thus they actually deny that there is literally, a ‘Father’ and a ‘Son’.  That makes the teaching of the Trinity is the teaching of the Anti-Christ.  (666)

  • If you believe in 1. God the Father, 2. God the Son, and 3. God the Holy Spirit – you have three Gods –you might say that they are united in thought, mind and will and whatever, but they are still three, three Gods.  The human nature is such that we can only worship a single being, we cannot worship three beings or persons.  To worship a being or person we much exalt or value that being or person above everything and everybody.   Jesus knew that, that’s why He said, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.” (Matthew 6:24).  How could we be expected to focus our worship on three beings?  We can’t, Jesus told us to worship the Father alone.

  • In Luke Chapter 1, it says that the Holy Spirit would come upon Mary she would become pregnant with Jesus.  If Holy Spirit is a God, then the Holy Spirit should be the Father of Jesus.  Why is the Holy Spirit then not the Father of Jesus?  Because we read in that chapter that the Holy Spirit is the ‘Power of Most High’.  The Holy Spirit is the Power and presence of the Most High God, not another god.

  • Our English Bibles refer to the Holy Spirit as ‘he’, but in the Greek, the Holy Spirit is an ‘it’.  Who changed it?It was those who want to prove to you that there is a Trinity. We just read in Luke 1 that the Holy Spirit is the “not a person or god.

  • Yet, on a positive note, I suspect that there are many people in many churches today who would say that they believe in the Trinity, but through the reading of the Scriptures they have mentally elevated the Father to the Supreme position in the Trinity – by praying to Him and directing their worship to Him alone. Thus they are effectively are not accepting the traditionally taught orthodox view of the Trinity.  The orthodox view of the Trinity consists of ‘Three equal beings that have always existed’, but hopefully many having elevated the Father to the supreme position so they would have a more correct view of God.

  • The Old and New Testaments clearly tells us to worship Yahweh, the Father alone, and Jesus repeats that instruction in the New Testament. So if we worship something or anyone else, we are sinning against the Bible and disobeying God the Father and Jesus His son. The worship of anyone other than Yahweh, God the Father, is to commit the sin of idolatry.

Jesus said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.  And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

What Traditions do we have in our church will affect our worship off God?  I can think of two, the Sunday tradition and the Trinity.  Those who do either are, according to this text, worshiping God in vain.

I’m not saying the Jesus is not of a divine nature.  But what I read from the Scriptures is that He is not YAHWEH God of the Hebrew Bible.  Even if Jesus is of a divine nature, we are told to worship YAHWEH alone.  YAHWEH is the one that the Old Testament identifies as God, and He is the one that is called the ‘Father’, He made the heavens and earth, and He is the one that Jesus said was ‘His Father’ and ‘His God’.  Jesus told us to worship the Father only and we are to pray the Father in Jesus name.  The Bible says that Yahweh alone is God –and there is no other.  Does that mean the Jesus is not a God? Perhaps we need a better definition of ‘God’.  Jesus said that the Father is greater than He is.  Jesus was begotten by the Father, the Father gave Him life and the Father raised Him from the dead.  I don’t fully understand the nature and character of Jesus, but He called Himself the ‘Son of Man’, He was begotten by the Father, and is therefore called the ‘Son of God’.  In addition He is the Messiah, the Anointed One, the Promised One of Israel, our Judge, Prophet, our Intercessor, and our Great high Priest – but He is never called God in the Bible –nor does He call himself God, using Psalm 110 describe His relationship to God, Matthew 19:17, Mark 10:18, Luke 18:19, John 14:1, and John 17:3 He actually denies that he is God.  If he sits at the Right hand of God, how can he be God?

Is the Trinity is just a mystery?  First we can’t study the Trinity from the Scriptures, because it is not there.  When studying the ‘trinity’ it is from non-biblical writings.  When you are told that the ‘trinity’ is a ‘mystery’, you are being told that you are supposed to stop thinking logically or rationally about the Trinity – you are told to believe it, even though it doesn’t make sense, and the Bible doesn’t support it, you are being told that you are to turn off your brain and accept the contradictions, illogical reasoning, and inconsistencies and you should not try to understand how three can be one and one be three – you are being told not to question it – and if you do you are a heretic.  In addition, you cannot understand it from the Scriptures, because it is a mystery that is not revealed.  I guess you are supposed to accept that teachings from the “religious” experts with blind faith.

The only reason I accepted the idea of the Trinity is because it was taught to me by religious teachers, not because I read it in the Bible. Of course I accepted the teaching because I was young, they were experts and I didn’t know any better.  I assumed it was in the scriptures, but it’s simply not there.  So for 60 years I accepted it, until I studied the issue in scriptures.  I knew that there wasn’t much in the scriptures to support, but until I started this study I never realized how much there was that is contrary to the idea of a Trinity.

Perhaps it is so difficult to understand the ‘mystery’ of the Trinity because it is a contrived doctrine, “inferred”, with little or no Scriptural support.  The concept of the Trinity, like evolution, it evolved over the centuries and it has to be imagined because it makes no rational, logical or Biblical sense.   I would be surprised if God left us with a picture of Himself (the Trinity) that is too hard for us to understand in the New Testament, when the Old Testament gives is a simple picture (non -Trinity) of God that is not too hard for child to understand.  The Bible says, “God is not the author of confusion” (I Cor. 14:33a).

The Bible clearly states that there is one God, and God is one, YHWH is God, and YHWH is the Father.  We are told, even by Jesus, to worship the Father alone for He is the only true God.  Matthew 4:10, “Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”  And John 17:3, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” And Paul agrees, 1 Corinthians 8:5-6, (NKJV), “For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.”

I know worshipers of the Trinity believe that they are only worshiping one God, but that is not the case.  Polytheism is considered an abomination to Islam and it is one of the main reasons for terrorism.  Polytheism is an abomination in their eyes, and they believe in God’s eyes as well.

We are commanded by God’s 10 Commandments in Exodus and Deuteronomy to worship YHWH only, that is the Father, and we are told that He is the only true God.  We are told over and over again, ‘God is one, YHWH, and there is no other’.  Yet Christianity wants to say ‘God is three’ – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and worship Three Beings as God, and then deny that three are actually three but really one.

Is this not a form of idolatry?  Even if  want to believe that Jesus is “God” equal to the Father, Jesus told us to worship the Father alone and to pray to the Father, shouldn’t we obey Him? –you had better obey Him, if you think He is God! (Remember the warning in 2Thess 1:8-9)

Worship YAHWEH the Father only, honor Jesus...
